Mommy Makeover Patient 1
This patient is in her early 40s and lost approximately 80 pounds through a combination of diet, exercise, and GLP-1 medication. After achieving significant weight loss and reaching a stable weight, she was left with excess abdominal skin, changes in her abdominal and waistline contour, and loss of breast volume and shape. She sought plastic surgery to restore her proportions and improve her overall body contour.
She underwent a comprehensive post-weight-loss body contouring procedure, including an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. The tummy tuck removed excess abdominal skin and tightened the abdominal wall, while liposuction refined the abdomen and flanks to create a more defined waistline and smoother overall contour.
For the breasts, she underwent an augmentation mastopexy (breast augmentation with breast lift) using Allergan SoftTouch low-plus profile silicone gel implants. The implants were placed beneath the pectoralis muscle using a dual-plane I technique, while the mastopexy addressed breast skin excess and ptosis to improve breast shape and position.
The combination of tummy tuck, liposuction, breast augmentation, and breast lift allowed for comprehensive reshaping of the abdomen, waist, and breasts following significant weight loss. This type of post-weight-loss body contouring can help patients achieve a more balanced and proportionate silhouette when diet and exercise alone cannot address excess skin and changes in body shape.
